Help! How do I do this?
I just added my name to Rhoda at Southern Hospitality. When I click on the other names on the list it takes me to the post they want to show. When you click on mine it takes you to my whole blog? Confused about what I mean? I am too, Im not sure how else to describe it though. I want to set it up so when you click on my nam eit takes me JUST to what I want to show. Can anyone help me figure this out?
Toe update
No surgery needed says the doc. But he also says it will heal crooked. Um, not what I wanted to hear, I broke it and twisted the bone at the same time and it is really stickin out there. I wans't very impressed with him at all, he said you might want to wrap that, gave me some tape and said see you in 6 weeks. Now where do I tape it? Where the break is, or up at the top of the toe to straighten it? For how long, how tight? He was not a person you could talk to. I am laid off but I do factory work, a crooked toe and steel toe boots dont mesh well ya know? Add walking and walking and walking on concrete... I'm calling the dr my son saw when he broke his arm cause I dont expect it to be perfect but I do want to be able to WEAR SHOES! Is that too much to ask? See the top of the little toe? It is usually right up against the next toe.
thrifty finds
I absolutely love going to yard sales and thrift stores. I remember going to yard sales with my mom, years ago and I really miss her being gone. But the tradition has continued, my daughters seek them out and sometimes I can drag my son along, but not very often. I found this adorable shelf for $5.00, its white and it may end up black. These little bowls were 50cents each and are perfect for the bathroom. One had cotton balls in it and the other nail clippers and it fits perfectly in the shelf. I'm not sure what the two holes in the shelf are for? The cotton balls bowl looks like there's something brown on it and I don't know why, there is nothing there, must be a reflection. My best find was this towel rack. It was at the SA and I've been eyeballing it for some time. It was $45, then $35 and while I liked it, I didn't like it THAT much. Last time I went and it was down to $5.00!! SCORE!!! It is slanted and rubber protectors on the part that leans up against the wall, has 3 rungs and 2 shelves. My original plan was to paint it black and use it to display quilts. Then I realized I didn't really have room for it until I get some other projects done, so of course its in the bathroom with towels on it. I found more but I'm saving them for next week. So come back and visit. Well darn it all, I deleted the towel rack pictures, why did I do that? Guess I'll take some tomorrow and post then then.

I was attacked!
I was minding my own business, carrying a load of laundry to wash when it happened, the fan jumped out and attacked me!!! Grabbed on to my little toe and would not let go!! What did I ever do to deserve that? Maybe I ran it too much this week, after all its been HOT, but geez, to attack me? LOL Im pretty sure I heard it go "pop" over the sounds of my (loudly) cursing! Have you ever stubbed your toe? Then you know what Im talking about here, it HURTS!! I kept going, threw the clothes in the washer, folded the clothes in the dryer, then sat down to view the damage. It didnt look good, little toe on my left foot was aiming east and was swollen and red. No matter how hard I tried it would not wiggle, at all. So I did what we all do..got online to see what, if anything the dr would do for a broken toe. Tape it. Okay, sounds good, OMG, Im not touching it again, I about went through the roof! After some debating I decided to go to the er, after I posted my misery on a quilting group I frequent. Ha ha. Now the timing was not good, my daughter had 2 of her friends on the way from Wisconsin, Cornerstone is this week and they are to attend that. It is a Christian Music Festival that is in a farmers field and has been going on here for many years. Out little town of 3000 will triple in size for the week. Anyway, I just moved and Im still unpacking and wasnt really in a big hurry to get it done. But when I found out we were going to have company...well, it HAD to get done. So I had been rearranging, cleaning, unpacking and all that good stuff for 2 days, it was HOT, I was hot, sweating, and filthy. Luckily I was almost done. Hopped in the shower, touched up my toenail polish, I mean c'mon, I couldnt go with chipped polish could I? Turns out I not only broke it but I twisted the bone also. X-Rays show a jagged, diagonally break from one side to the other with about a 1/4' space between the now 2 bones.! Great. They didnt tape it, didnt even touch it, gave me a stylin shoe to wear and it seems I need to go see an ortho dr. Said surgery is probable. Double great. So how was your Sunday?

blogland
So I'm sitting here in blogland reading all these wonderful, witty, charming, gorgeous and sometimes downright hilarious blogs thinking to myself, why cant I be like that? Ha.. maybe someday. Im just an ordinary single mom and grandmother who was recently laid off from her factory job. I dont have a fancy house, fancy things nor the income to do what others are. Im content with the simple things in life. Ideas..yes...many..the means to do them? No..wait a minute maybe I do..Ive seen these wonderful women turn trash to treasures sometimes with just a simple can of paint and realized I CAN do that!!! So, starting next week Ill show you what I did this week..even if no one is looking right now, it will be here. Who knows maybe someday Ill be doing a giveaway of my own??

Grandkids!
I have company, dd3 came to visit and to help me move, she brought her baby Timmothy 51/2 months and dd1 two oldest boys, Colton 5 and Dylan 7. I love spending time when them ..but...it will be nice to see them go home also.Heres Dylan playing with legos on the front porch, I had to take a pic of his latest creation, can you tell he dressed himself? Colton really got into trying to throw the ball and closes his eyes when he tried to catch it..gotta work on that..and the baby is adorable!! His smile lights up the room.
